The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai, Among World's 50 Best Hotels 2025. Full List Inside

The prestigious World's 50 Best Hotels list for 2025 has been announced, celebrating the most exceptional hotel experiences across the globe. Voted on by a panel of over 800 travel and hospitality experts, the third edition of the awards was announced at a grand ceremony held on October 30, 2025, at London's Old Billingsgate.

Topping the list this year is Rosewood Hong Kong, a luxury property known for its expansive hospitality, boasting over 400 rooms starting at 53 sq.m. Since opening in 2019, it has become a flagship for modern Asian minimalism and refined service.

Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River claimed second place, celebrated for its tranquil riverside setting, curated art collection, and impeccable Thai hospitality. Capella Bangkok followed in third, praised for its intimate atmosphere, personalised service, and opulent suites.

India made a proud entry into the top 50 with the Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai, securing the 38th spot. A landmark since 1903, the hotel was the first luxury property in India to be fully Indian-owned. Its interiors - featuring hand-knotted carpets, silk drapes, four-poster beds, and crystal chandeliers - continue to exude regal charm and heritage.

Previously, three Indian hotels had featured in the extended list (rank 51-100), all from Rajasthan: Sujan Jawai (rank 91), The Johri, Jaipur (rank 93), and Amanbagh, Ajabgarh (rank 100).

This year, Asia dominated the rankings, with 20 hotels making it to the list. Japan bagged the maximum awards, with four Tokyo-based properties featured.
