- A Singapore influencer shared his travel experience from Doha to Riyadh amid the Gulf crisis
- Journey took about 11 hours including border delays and customs checks on a 30-seater bus
- He advised securing a Saudi e-visa in advance via the official website before traveling
A Singapore-based influencer who was stranded in Doha (Qatar) amid the ongoing Gulf war has shared his experience of travelling from Doha to Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) by land. In an Instagram video posted six days ago, digital creator @superadrianme documented his "smooth and scenic" journey from Doha to Riyadh amid the current regional crisis.
In the video, he explains that he left Doha at 8 am and reached his hotel in Riyadh at around 7 pm. "Even if Google Maps says under eight hours, please budget 10 to 12 hours, especially if you're planning to catch a flight after arriving," he says, describing the travel duration.
The biggest delay, he notes, was at border control and customs. "I was on a 30-seater bus, so naturally things took time," he shares.
He also emphasises the importance of securing a Saudi e-visa before beginning the journey. "Please don't wait till the last minute," he advises. Travellers can apply at https://visa.visitsaudi.com/
Upon arriving, the influencer said that Riyadh felt "safe and normal". From there, he took a flight back home. "With breaks in between and some roadblocks and our lunch, this may be a long trip, but it's pretty scenic. Knowing that I finally have a date to fly home does make a huge difference. Riyadh felt safe and normal when I arrived," he adds.

Multiple airlines are currently operating flights to and from Saudi Arabia's capital, Riyadh. Saudi airspace remains open, though carriers are facing significant cancellations and prolonged operational delays. Travellers are advised to check directly with their airlines for the latest schedules. Following roughly two weeks of disruption, Indian carriers have also resumed services to and from Riyadh as of Thursday, the Ministry of Civil Aviation said in a statement.
