Arunachal Pradesh's Anini, often called an "unexplored paradise," has been recognised as India's 'Best Emerging Adventure Destination'. The accolade was presented to District Tourism Officer Lamwang Aran by Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at the 17th Annual Convention of the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI) in Srinagar recently. "Among the most sought-after activities here are the Seven Lakes trek, Aeyo Valley trek, Pomo Winter trek in Zambra Valley - the habitat of the endangered Mishmi Takin, and the culturally revered Athupopu trek, PTI quoted an official as saying.

Nestled in the mountains and forests of Dibang Valley, Anini is a haven for nature lovers and adventure seekers. This hidden gem of the northeast offers breathtaking treks, rich cultural experiences with the Idu Mishmi tribe, and pristine landscapes. How To Reach Anini?

Anini is a remote, small, underdeveloped town on a plateau between the Dri and Mathun rivers. You can take a train to Tinsukia Railway Station (TNK) or fly to Dibrugarh Airport (DIB). Then, hire a cab or a shared public transport to take a scenic but long road trip (12-14 hours) via Roing (Arunachal Pradesh).

After reaching Roing, Anini is about 200-235 km from there, which can be covered by local vehicles. Keep in mind that an Inner Line Permit (ILP) is required for entry into Arunachal Pradesh. Also, remember the Arunachal Pradesh State Transport Service (APSTS) runs buses on specific days.

The best time to visit Anini is from October to April. Snow lovers should plan their trip between November and March, when the town transforms into a winter wonderland with clear skies and postcard-worthy views.

March to April brings spring, with pleasant weather and fields of blooming rhododendrons before the monsoon arrives. For those seeking a relaxed trip amid mild temperatures and lush greenery, April to July is also suitable.

Travel between June and September is best avoided due to heavy rainfall and frequent road disruptions.
