The Oxygen Expresses have delivered more than 26,281 metric tonnes (MT) of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) in more than 1,534 tankers to various states across the country, the Railways Ministry informed on Sunday.

Over 17,239 metric tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) in over 1,042 tankers has been delivered across the country by the Indian Railways' Oxygen Express during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Railways said in a statement on Tuesday.

Amid India's battle against the second Covid wave, the arrival of three massive cryogenic oxygen tankers from Thailand at Hyderabad's Begumpet airport, should come as a big relief for Telangana to supply medical oxygen to patients.

The Railways has so far delivered 13,319 tonnes of liquid medical oxygen (LMO) in more than 814 tankers to states across the country since it started operating the Oxygen Express service last month.
