A flood-like situation prevails in several parts of West Bengal with heavy rain over the last few days.

Heavy rains continued to lash several districts of West Bengal, Odisha and Jharkhand today due to a low-pressure area in the eastern region.

At least eight people were killed including one in Ranchi due to heavy rain and lightning strikes in Jharkhand in the last 24 hours, an official said on Monday.

The Orange Alert has been issued for heavy rain in Jharkhand and Odisha today and in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand today and tomorrow.
