Guntur:
25-year-old Narasimha was paraded around town in his undergarments, wearing a garland of slippers. He attempted to take off the slipper-garland but it was put right back by the angry crowd following him on the roads of Vinukonda town in the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh.
Following him were two women and a mob of their supporters. Narasimha had reportedly married Sheikh Anita after wooing her for months, and declaring 'ever-lasting' love for her. She left her home and family to run away with him. But she says that for 18 months, he abused her physically and verbally.
The second woman in his life is a young nurse from neighbouring Ongole. She says he cut his wrist at least half a dozen times to show his undying love for her. Finally, he threatened that unless she gave in, he would harm her family, her sister, brother and brother-in-law.
While it's unclear how the two women met each other, both the harassed women decided to teach him a lesson.
Anita says she doesn't want any other woman to live through what she has and that is why she has decided to go public with whatever happened. Both the women want Narasimha to be put away behind bars and Anita, as his legally wedded wife, has lodged a case against him.
