Microsoft Paint 'Here To Stay'. Internet Breathes A Sigh Of Relief

"MS Paint is here to stay," clarifies Microsoft in a blog post, much to the Internet's relief

Deep breaths, Internet: Microsoft isn't killing off its iconic Paint feature just yet. On Monday, the Internet went into overdrive after seeing Microsoft Paint in the 'deprecated' column of the upcoming Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. Many were quick to assume this meant Microsoft was killing off Paint. But, as it turns out, that's not the case. Microsoft has confirmed in a blog post that Paint is "here to stay" and will be moving to the Windows Store, allowing fans of the classic doodling app to install the it wherever they want.

"Today, we've seen an incredible outpouring of support and nostalgia around MS Paint. If there's anything we learned, it's that after 32 years, MS Paint has a lot of fans. It's been amazing to see so much love for our trusty old app," says Microsoft in the blog.

"MS Paint is here to stay, it will just have a new home soon, in the Windows Store where it will be available for free," the company clarifies.
