On July 1 2001, three days after she spoke to her husband, Salma Shafeeq Ghori opened the door to a group of army officers and their wives, who sat her down before breaking devastating news. "Major Shafeeq Ghori is no more", they said.

In a Facebook post shared by Being You that has received over 1.8 lakh 'likes' and more than 42,000 shares, Salma Shafeeq Ghori describes the worst moment of her life, and how she learnt to live with it.

"I was 29 when Major Shafeeq Ghori was martyred. People told me to move on... but he was, is, and will always be my Forever" - she says in the post shared on the date her husband died fighting terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir, 16 years ago.

She was 29 when she lost her husband after 10 years of marriage.

Ms Ghori talks in her post about moving to different cities and often staying away from her husband for long periods. "I knew he loved the country the most and his kids and wife came a close second," she says.

She describes the moment she learnt of her husband's death. "...I thought I heard it wrong... Major Shafeeq Ghori was martyred in a heroic gun battle with militants during Operation Rakshak. Everything around me fell, crumbled. That day was the day I received my final letter from him."

She now works with widows and families of army martyrs and plays the role of both mother and father to their children.
