Wedding proposals are usually all sugar and spice and everything nice. And watching videos of such wonderful moments almost always make people smile. However, one proposal is currently going viral for all the wrong reasons. A video tweeted by Atlanta Hawks, a professional basketball team, shows the exact moment a man proposed to his girlfriend. Only, it doesn't quite have the happy ending one would expect. Since being shared on January 22, this proposal fail has received over 23,000 'likes' and more than 18,000 retweets.
Captured on the 'kiss cam' during a recent game, the video first shows several couples kissing each other. Because, kiss cam, duh. It then shows this particular couple, who first kiss each other and then the man is seen going down on one knee. The woman is taken by surprise but the happy moment ends rather abruptly. He accidentally drops the ring. Gasp!
Don't blame the man, it's not his fault really. He drops the ring thanks to an encouraging pat he receives from another spectator watching the game. And as he hunts around for the dropped ring, it's the woman's reaction that you need to see.
"Moral of the story: Don't propose at sporting events!" says one commenter on the video. "This is why you keep the ring in the box when you propose," says another. Some people are also calling the incident fake. Take a look and decide for yourself.
Another video with a similar ending was being shared on social media a couple of weeks ago. This proposal was, however, near a waterfall. Finding a ring in water may be as difficult as finding a needle in a hay stack. Ouch.
We're not sure if either of the couples found the rings but we hope they at least find happiness together.
