Mumbai:
A 27-year-old man today allegedly committed by setting himself on fire at his residence in suburban Kurla, police said today.
According to police, this afternoon Gurunath Mahadik, a resident of Sneha Sadan Co-operative society in Kurla, doused himself with kerosene and immolated self when he was alone at home.
Mahadik, who sustained 100 per cent burn injuries, was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to injuries before admission, police said.
The reason for the suicide is not yet clear, police said adding that further probe was on.
