Lucknow: Four of family found murdered

Lucknow: Bodies of four members of a family were recovered from their house in Barabanki district on the outskirts of Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow on Monday, police said.

The bodies were highly decomposed and police suspect that they were killed two days back.

Superintendent of Police, Barabanki, Abdul Hameed told IANS that the bodies were found after the neighbours reported that foul smell was coming from the house of 55-year-old Shiv Baran.

When police reached the house, they found the bodies of Shiv Baran, his wife Rani, 40, sons Guddu, 25 and Nirmal lying in various rooms.

They were gagged, their hands tied and their bodies bore deep sharp-weapon-injuries.

During preliminary investigations, police said it had come to light that Shiv Baran's marriage to Rani was his second and that someone from either families could have harboured some hostility towards them and executed the killings.

"We are probing all angles including this one," Hameed added.
