We've seen many styles come and go but there are some trends that stuck for longer and that too for all the right reasons. Even though this year was a rather eventful one, it managed to hold ground of some of our favourite fashion trends. Whatever ups and downs this year had, it surely was the year of comebacks when it came to trends. Trends from 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s made a huge uproar this season from the runway to the high-end streets. Polka dots, flared denims and tiny tinted sunglasses started gaining momentum in 2019 and gradually peaked this year. There were other trends too that made it big on the fashion scene. Loud and proud colours and patterns made their way back in the game as well along with avant garde looks like dramatic sleeves and tulle. Here are some of our favourite trends from throwback fashion.
Take A Look At Some Of The Best Trends From The Season
1. Polka Dots
The ultimate throwback trend has to be the introduction of polka dots back into wardrobe. Julia Roberts' iconic polka dot dress from Pretty Woman is still an epitome of pure perfection. Polka dots today are back in a "the bigger, the better" look where large and bright polka dots are stealing the limelight.
2. Neons
There is a fine line between looking like a highlighter and a diva when wearing neons. It is tricky styling neons but not rocket science, ladies and we saw our definite share of some of the best this year. Deciding the intensity of the brightness of the neon depends on your personality. Not just in clothing but we also saw them among accessories and if you're the Kardashians then you probably even saw a fair deal of neon wigs as well. Of course neon is not for the faint hearted but who said we weren't experimental?

3. Tulle
Who said you had to be a ballerina to rock a tulle? 2020 was all about grand over the top outfits such as a tulle skirt. Larger than life tulle skirts and dresses on celebrities like Deepika Padukone, Ariana Grande and Ananya Panday this year made us believe that we could all be tulle princesses too.
4. Tie-Dye
The comeback of this trend was long overdue and it really took a pandemic for us to realise that. If you weren't locked in your house experimenting with dyes and an old t-shirt to resurrect it from the dead, then did you even isolate yourself? Tie-dye sweatshirts made it big this year in loungewear sets and t-shirts; the official uniform of 2020.
5. Sequins
This year put a long halt on our dreams to glam up so when we got the chance, we compensated it all in one go. When life gives you a pandemic, you wear sequins was the motto this year and we're not guilty one bit. Sequins reached Indian wear too as we saw sequin sarees make it big during the festive season. A sequin dress is the ultimate party dress and many channeled their inner disco queen look during the party season this year.

6. Dramatic Sleeves
This year was high on drama (pun intended) and that was perfectly reflected on the kind of outfits we saw. Voluminous sleeves made a dramatic entry with exaggerated shoulder pads and ruffled sleeves this year. Some celebrities took the drama a little higher by adding a plunging neckline to their outfits for that extra glam.
Will 2021 be the year of more comeback styles? We'll probably just have to wait for that.
