Having a stylish mommy has plenty of perks. You can borrow her handbags for a lunch date, do each other's hair and if you're so lucky as to share a size, even swap stilettos. If you are Sridevi and Janhvi Kapoor, you can even step out stylishly together and leave those clicking cameras in a frenzy of popping flashbulbs. At last night's Lakme Grand Finale, Sridevi and Janhvi were among the starry faces. The stylish duo looked phenomenal together and Sridevi looked so youthful, she could easily be mistaken for Janhvi's older sister. Donning what else but Anamika Khanna in solidarity with the designer's collection showcase, Janhvi and Sridevi posed for the shutterbugs after stepping off the stone staircases of the venue.
Janhvi's outfit of choice was a co-ordinated embroidered set of skinny trousers and a long-sleeved top with a low neckline. She paired it with Amrapali earrings, nude strap heels and bronze eye makeup. Sridevi, on the other hand, went a little more elaborate with a beige toned draped saree and cream embroidered jacket, fresh from the designer's collection. She also upped the ante with her makeup look by opting for a tight bun, highlighted skin and burgundy lips. Keeping in theme with the dramatic designer showcase, the title of 'Bollywood's most stylish mother and daughter' definitely goes to these two.
This isn't the first time Janhvi and Sridevi have made a stylish appearance together. Last August, the two of them looked positively radiant with Janhvi sporting a bare face and Sridevi in large sunnies and dark lips.
In Los Angeles, they gave us mother-daughter street style goals when Janhvi showed off her legs for days in embroidered boot-cut jeans and a tie-up top. Sridevi too went casual chic with an all-white layered look, sneakers and a designer bag.
For a festive function, the two gave twinning new meaning by stepping out in co-ordinated silver outfits. While the fashionable daughter chose a shimmery off-shoulder gown with a thigh-high slit, the equally chic mother went ethnic in a lace saree.
Then there was the time they both matched in complementary gowns. Sridevi chose a beige long-sleeved gown that was high on glitter while Janhvi went for a flowing white number with floral details and sheer sleeves.
Early last year at an event, Sridevi chose a colourful embroidered suit which she wore with smokey eyes and straight hair. Janhvi went for a crimson touch in a red off-shoulder gown with dangling earrings, a radiant face and red lips to match.
One thing's for certain, they're definitely giving mothers and their daughters some serious style goals.
