Here's How This Rose Gold Facial Oil Fared On Oily Skin

While rose gold is best associated with metallic watches, phone backs and jewellery, it has also made its way to the beauty sphere. Gold, with its anti-ageing benefits, has been a popular ingredient in serums and sheet masks for years now. In The Beauty Co. My oily skin tone did make me apprehensive to try a facial oil but I decided to give it a go. Today on Swirlster, I'm taking about how this rose gold facial oil fared on my oily skin.

The rose gold oil from The Beauty Co. comes in a frosted glass bottle with a plastic cap that has a gold chrome finish and dropper built in. The cap doesn't look particularly sturdy and with it made of glass, it needs careful handling or else will be a nightmare to clean up. It contains 25ml of oil and is priced at Rs 1,250. Though that seems like a small quantity for the price, you require only a couple of drops when you actually use it.

My oily skin type has made me reluctant to try facial oils so this marked my very first adventure with it. I was pleasantly surprised at how thin the consistency of the oil is. Though a blend of multiple oils, it doesn't feel sticky whatsoever. For my entire face, I required only 2-3 drops and that was enough to impart a sheen without making my skin slick. I think that's the secret to using a facial oil even on an oily skin type; using extremely little and not going overboard. Its fragrance is noticeably strong when you apply it. I haven't used it consistently as a part of my skincare routine; only for makeup purposes. It took to my skin extremely well - it lent a lovely glow and didn't cause any breakouts. I've found that this facial oils adds itself very well to foundation. It blends together well, doesn't separate and adds a dewy touch even to matte finished base makeup.
