Shay Mitchell, one of the four girls from the famous TV series, Pretty Little Liars was in India last week. By her pictures, we can safely say she's in love with our colourful country. On her Instagram, she has been quoting Bhagavad Gita and cursing the Indian heat, just like us locals. It's not the first time she's come to India by the way, she was in India in 2015 and had visited Mumbai and also played Holi. How cute, right?! She titled her little work-cum-vacation to India as #ShaycationIndia and in case you missed it, she has had a ball here. So, let's see those gorgeous pictures she has uploaded and get some major FOMO!
1. Tuk-tuks aka autos have been Shay's choice of transport.
Shay's first pitstop was Jodhpur. While she did visit the blue city for a photoshoot, it's definitely been checked off her bucket list. She loved travelling by the autos... Or did she?! She posed in gorgeous velvet gowns, no thanks to the sweltering heat. Well, all things considered, we still wish we had a vacation just like hers!
2. A secret garden that reminded Shay of her home.
Shay was caught lazing around in a garden full of bougainvillea and we swear, we really do wish a regular day in our lives looked like that too. Oh, well!
3. Horses running around Shay just made her slay even more.
For the photoshoot, she had to pose in the midst of horses running around in the desert and girl, did she slay!
4. Shay behaved just like every tourist in Rajasthan does, including us.
Shay clicked corners of her hotel, palaces, roads and even cows. Psst, she went to Varanasi and clicked one of the sadhus there too. Does this remind you of yourself? No? Well, it makes us relate to her, for sure!
5. Shay recreated the whole Beauty And The Beast with an Indian touch.
This actually looks like a shot right out of the movie, right?!
6. And how Shay appreciated different cultures.
The caption says, "The Ganges River is one of the holiest, most sacred place in all of India. The locals simply refer to her as "Ganga". I was lucky to get to spend time in Varanasi, which is the oldest of India's cities, and experience the burning ghat. Each day tens of thousands of people from around India and even the world, bring their deceased loved ones to be cremated and bathed in the river, in hopes their soul will be transported to heaven. I have never witnessed something so life altering and raw as I did here. I got lost in the hissing sound of the fire and the bright orange embers that lit up the sky while at the same time, I was brought back to the harsh reality of watching a young boy say goodbye to a family member about to be cremated. It made me realize how different each culture handles death. That's what the river teaches us all, keep flowing..." After reading this, Shay definitely has our heart.
