The momentous occasion was marked by sophisticated style statements of the foremost figures on inauguration day. Kamala Harris stood besides husband Doug Emhoff wearing a rich purple midi dress and matching overcoat by designers Christopher John Rogers and Sergio Hudson. Understated earrings, a necklace, brooch and black pumps finished off the elegant outfit that was fit for Madame Vice President.

Following her lead was Jill Biden, the FLOTUS to husband and President Joe Biden. Dr. Biden wore a teal toned dress and matching overcoat by designer Markarian. Nude pointed heels, an embellished neckline and a matching face mask wrapped up the ensemble with finesse.

Michelle Obama, the former First Lady of the United States, didn't fail to make a chic statement on inauguration day either. She sported a plum turtleneck top, wide-legged trousers and a matching overcoat with a metallic buckled belt, also by Sergio Hudson as she walked in besides husband and former President Barack Obama. She paired it with dark eye makeup and a curled hairstyle.

Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the United States House of Representatives too followed the jewel toned theme of the Inauguration Day. She donned a striking blue overcoat, scarf and pumps with a matching patterned face mask and grey gloves with husband Paul Pelosi by her side.
