Cannes 2018: These Bollywood Actresses Channeled Power Women Vibes In Chic Pantsuits

When it comes to power dressing, there's nothing like the pantsuit to make a style statement. The hottest runway trend of 2017-2018, no wonder celebrities are working the style to make powersuits bolder, sexier and empowering. This 80s' comeback is getting major loving and we are definitely going to be seeing a lot more stylish designs - be it well-tailored architectural cuts or bold colours. So when our Bollywood beauties picked pantsuits to make a fashion statement at Cannes Film Festival this year, it really came as no surprise. After all, each one of them - Deepika Padukone, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Kangana Ranaut - is a power woman.

Keeping with her retro vibe, Deepika Padukone picked a striking violet pantsuit designed by Mao. She looked every bit the 'boss lady' in the edgy suit with bell bottoms, while keeping her accessories minimal by sporting studs and finger rings by Misho Designs. Deepika kept her hair loose with a tidy side parting, and went for nude lips with heavily kohled eyes to add some oomph.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan went for a classic style and looked elegant as ever in a black Giorgio Armani pantsuit, which she teamed with a trendy pair of Racine Carrée heels and a Jimmy Choo matching clutch. Her hair was styled into a neat ponytail while she sported bright lips to complete her look. Understated yet chic.

Kangana Ranaut, on the other hand, made a bold statement in a Trussardi pantsuit. Trust Kangana to keep up with her unconventional sense of style and the attitude that says 'I-don't-give-a-damn'. She wore an olive green, high waisted trouser and teamed it with a trendy rust orange bra and a beige jacket from the same brand. To accessorise her look, she wore a gold necklace from Alighieri Jewellery, pale pink pumps from Manolo Blahnik, and cateye sunglasses from Poppy Lissiman.

Then there was Huma Qureshi too, who made her red carpet debut at Cannes in a Nikhil Thampi creation that no doubt made her stand out. Lined with platinum metal chips, Huma's brown pantsuit was radical with a futuristic edge, which didn't go down well with everyone. Yet it could work for those who like to bling it up.
