While last year and even the one before shone a spotlight on highlighter in all its shapes and forms, this year has taken a step back to basics. In 2019, makeup is about celebrating skin and its natural texture, rather than applying a base so thick, it resembles a mask. That's where yoga skin comes in. Started by U.K. based makeup artist Sarah Hill at the end of 2018, it slowly caught on and is set to become a hot favourite this season.
Remember how your face looks after a run, workout at the gym or pilates class? Your endorphins are high, skin is flushed and sweat leaves a natural glow. That's what the yoga skin makeup trend aims to emulate. According to Sarah on Instagram, she created the trend to look healthy, glowing, sheer, natural and lit from within. It's dewy, doesn't weigh down the skin and brings out its best look while keeping it natural. To try the yoga skin makeup trend created by Sarah, follow these steps.

Step 1 - Prep your skin as you would before makeup. Cleansing with the Himalaya Moisturizing Face Wash costing Rs 190, will cool and soften skin without drying it out.
Step 2 - Get down to priming a little. We recommend the NYX Hydratouch Oil Primer, costing Rs 2,280, reduced from Rs 4,399. This oil-based primer is infused with jojoba and safflower oil to lend a smooth, dewy base for the makeup.
Step 3 - Now's the important part. In a mixing board or back of your hand, add three or four pumps of liquid foundation of sheer or medium coverage. The Faces Ultime Second Skin Foundation, costing Rs 1,199, reduced from Rs 1,499 gives light coverage that melts easily into the skin.
Step 4 - To the foundation, add one drop of facial oil. The Beauty Co. Rose Gold Oil, costing Rs 929, reduced from Rs 1,250 is enriched with almond, Argan and Rosehip seed oils and is a great choice to mix with makeup.
Step 5 - Finally, finish the mixture with one drop of strobing cream, like the L'Oreal True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Foundation, costing Rs 571, reduced from Rs 756.
Step 6 - As an optional step, you can also add glow drops for that added boost, like the L'Oreal True Match Lumi Glow Amour Glow Boosting Drops, costing Rs 2,529, reduced from Rs 3,952.
Step 7 - With your clean hands, apply the mixture to your skin for a naturally lit base makeup look. Add more depending on the coverage you desire and get set for a stunning look that's literally lit.
In addition, you can also add concealer on areas that need more coverage and cream blush and bronzer if you like. We recommend the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer, costing Rs 356, reduced from Rs 475 and the PAC Cream Blusher, costing Rs 450.
