Kurukshetra:

In a shocking case of murder in Haryana's Kurukshetra, a woman killed her husband, took his guts out, and then in a moment of panic jumped off the terrace of their rented accommodation.

The victim Rajesh and his wife Vimla Devi were living near Raj Palace on Pehowa Road in Kurukshetra in a rented house. On the day of the crime, their landlord, Rinku, claimed that he heard the couple shouting at around 5 pm.

Hearing the commotion, he rushed to the terrace. What he saw next was no less than a scene from a crime movie.

Rajesh was lying in a pool of blood with severe injuries to his abdomen. The landlord allegedly saw Vimla putting Rajesh's intestines, which had come out of his body, into a bag. On seeing the landlord, the woman reportedly panicked and jumped from the terrace.

The accused was injured in the fall and was admitted to the hospital, where she is undergoing treatment. Police are attempting to record his statement.

According to officials, Rajesh, a native of Dhampur village in Uttar Pradesh's Sitapur district, was living with his wife in Kurukshetra for about a year. He worked in the supply department for a water trading company on Pehowa Road.

The post-mortem examination revealed the extent of the injuries. According to the findings, Rajesh's abdomen had been cut open to around 35 centimetres, with deep wounds caused by sharp-edged weapons. His intestines had reportedly come out of the abdominal cavity.

The post-mortem also found that a substantial portion of his liver and the right kidney were missing. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding these injuries and the missing organs.

Three knives of different sizes were recovered from the crime scene. Station House officer Surinder Singh and his Police teams reached the spot after receiving information about the incident. The scene was examined and forensic evidence was collected.

According to the landlord, Vimla was also involved in traditional healing and exorcism-related practices, while the couple frequently quarrelled. However, the exact motive behind the alleged murder has not yet been established.

Rajesh and Vimla had been married for several years but had no children. Police are now investigating their relationship, previous disputes and the circumstances leading up to the incident.

Officials said the investigation would be taken forward on the basis of the woman's statement, forensic evidence and the post-mortem report.
