Technical snag delays Air India flight

Indore: A technical snag delayed the departure of a Delhi-bound Air India flight by about 90 minutes from Ahilya Devi Airport on Saturday, officials said.

Incidentally, the same flight, with 65 passengers on board, was delayed by over five hours on Friday, after one of its tyres was found deflated.

The Mumbai-Delhi flight via Indore and Bhopal landed in Indore at 7.30 am. It left at around 9:15 am after a delay of 90 minutes, they said.

Airport Director RN Shinde confirmed the incident and said that the technical snag in the plane was rectified in an hour.

To a question, the Airport Manager Pradeep Dev and Station Manager Yogesh Kataria denied local media reports that one of the tyres of the aircraft had deflated.

"The tyres of the Air India flight 633 bound for Delhi via Indore and Bhopal were intact. There was no tyre burst or deflation as reported in some local eveningers," they told PTI by phone.

It was not known how many passengers were on board of the plane.
