SMSes Nirupama sent before she died

New Delhi:

It has been 10 days since journalist Nirupama Pathak was found dead at her parents' home in Koderma and there have been many twists in the tale that began as a suspected honour killing case. 

Nirupama's mother was arrested soon after post mortem reports revealed that the 23-year-old had died due to smothering. The mother was released on a three-day parole yesterday to attend the last rites of her daughter.

Nirupama's boyfriend Priyabhanshu, who was charged with rape and abetment to suicide, has now moved the High Court asking for a CBI inquiry into her death. Priyabhanshu, a journalist, has also accused the police of tampering with evidence in the case.

NDTV has access to SMSes exchanged between Nirupama and Priyabhanshu in the days before she died. They give a glimpse into their relationship, plans and the extent of family pressure. They are also a heart-rending reminder that this was a young woman in love.
