Shun 'Politics Of Casteism', Says Nitin Gadkari

For making Uttar Pradesh a leading state, such politics should be discarded, Nitin Gadkari said.

Ballia, Uttar Pradesh: Union minister Nitin Gadkari today appealed to people to shun "politics of casteism" for making Uttar Pradesh a leading state.

"Uttar Pradesh is a rich state but people here prefer politics of casteism that is responsible for their present state. For making Uttar Pradesh a leading state, such politics should be discarded," the Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways said.

Attacking Congress, he alleged it was responsible for the present state of farmers due to its "faulty economic policies, corruption and lack of vision for development".

On the occasion, Mr Gadkari announced schemes worth over Rs 2500 crore for 'Purvanchal' (eastern Uttar Pradesh) districts, including Mau, Ballia, Ghazipur, Deoria, Gorakhpur, and highlighted achievements of his ministry.
