New Delhi: The Cyclone Phet, building up in the Arabian Sea, has intensified into a category five storm. That is a super cyclone.
But the course has changed. Instead of advancing towards the Gujarat coast, it is now heading towards the coast of Oman in the Arabian Peninsula.
It is, however, expected to head back towards the Karachi and Gujarat coasts over the weekend, though as a weaker storm.
The weather department says Phet will nonetheless bring more rain over Gujarat and Maharashtra.
It has been raining heavily in many coastal districts of the state including Jamnagar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Bharuch, Surat and others like Rajkot, Ahmedabad and Vadodara already.
