Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Monday relished a samosa and sipped tea at a roadside eatery while campaigning in the old city area in Bhopal for the upcoming Madhya Pradesh assembly elections.
Rahul Gandhi was taking part in a road show when he halted at a Raju Tea Stall where he also took selfies with youngsters. Accompanying him were Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Kamal Nath, Congress lawmaker Jyotiraditya Scindia and other party leaders.
During his day-long visit to the state capital, Rahul Gandhi sought blessings from Hindu priests and young girls before beginning his 18-km-long roadshow from Lalghati Square, close to the Raja Bhoj Airport in Bhopal.
Thousands of party workers and supporters accompanied him holding the party's flags as he started the Sankalp Yatra. The cavalcade passed through the old city areas, including Royal Market and Peer Gate, before concluding the show at BHEL Dussehra Maidan.
Life-size cut-outs and posters with photographs of Mr Gandhi pouring holy water on Shivalinga was put up by party workers along the 18-km route that Mr Gandhi took.
