In twist in Sheena Bora murder case, Indrani Mukerjea blamed Peter for her daughters disappearance
MUMBAI:
Indrani Mukerjea, jailed in Mumbai on charges of murdering her daughter, appeared to be pointing an accusing finger at her husband on Wednesday, telling a Mumbai court that Peter Mukerjea could have abducted her daughter in 2012 and "made her untraceable".
Sheena "may have lost her life on account of greed, betrayal, jealousy, lust and ill-will of persons whom she dearly loved and trusted," Indrani Mukerjea said in her application to the CBI special court on Wednesday.
She wanted the phone company to be ordered to give her Peter Mukerjea's call records for 2012 and 2015 to ascertain the facts.
In his testimony to the court, their driver Shyamwar Rai who had turned into an approver has confessed to his role in the murder but pinned much of the blame on Indrani Mukerjea and her former husband Sanjeev Khanna.
According to reports, Indrani Mukerjea had held Peter responsible for damning, "false" testimonies by his son Rahul Mukerjea, and her former driver Shyamvar Rai. "I am in a big mess at the moment - thanks to Shyam and Rahul's false testimony," she was recently reported to have written to her husband.
Indrani's application to the court on Wednesday reflected this view as well where she accused Peter and his family of framing her. Indrani said she believes that Peter and others may have manipulated the circumstances to frame her and influence witnesses, situations and information that led to her arrest "for the heinous crime that they may have committed, aided and abetted".
Peter's lawyer Shrikant Shivde said he will not comment on Indrani's application and will file appropriate reply in court, according to news agency Press Trust of India.
