India Pakistan News LIVE Updates: Pakistan's nuclear weapons should be brought under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) as they are not safe in such a rogue nation, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said on Thursday.

His remarks came days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India would not tolerate "nuclear blackmail" by Pakistan and would punish cross-border terrorism strongly.

"Today, from the land of Srinagar, I want to raise this question before the whole world: are nuclear weapons safe in the hands of such an irresponsible and rogue nation? I believe that Pakistan's nuclear weapons should be taken under the supervision of IAEA," Mr Singh said, as he made his first trip to Jammu & Kashmir since Operation Sindoor.

Meanwhile, Union Civil Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu, who reviewed the operations of Srinagar airport, said the government would make every effort to bring back tourists to Kashmir, which has witnessed a decrease in footfall of visitors after the Pahalgam terror attack.

On the intervening night of May 7 and 8, India launched Operation Sindoor to target terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, in response to the Pahalgam attack that claimed 26 lives. The operation escalated bilateral tensions as it led to strikes and counter-strikes between the two nations. On Saturday, India and Pakistan reached an agreement to stop all firing and military action on land, air and sea, with effect from 5pm. Pakistan, however, violated the agreement within hours of it coming into effect.

Here are the LIVE updates on India-Pakistan ceasefire:

India Doesn't Need Mediation By Trump Or Anyone Else On Kashmir: Ramdas Athawale

Union minister Ramdas Athawale asserted that India does not need mediation from US President Donald Trump or anyone else on the Kashmir issue, and said the country will have to use force, if necessary, to reclaim Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

"India has hit Pakistan hard. The ceasefire is for a few days now. But our army has taught (Pakistan) a lesson and we have killed over a 100 terrorists in Pakistan. It is not the case that the operation has stopped after the mediation of US President Donald Trump. India has put forth a proposal that Pakistan should hand over the PoK (to India) and stop terror activities," he said.

"India should take PoK. If it can be achieved through peaceful means, that is better. But we must be ready to take it back forcefully if required," he added.

No third party has the right to compromise on the issue and India's stand is that a bullet will be answered by a bullet, he said.

India had cut off the water supply after the horrific attack on tourists in Kashmir's  Pahalgam on April 22. Invoking its national security prerogative, India said the treaty would be on freeze until Islamabad ends its support for terrorism.

Inside The Turkish Firm That Handles High-Security Tasks At Indian Airports

Turkey's decision to back Pakistan during the recent India-Pakistan stand-off has led to massive outrage against the nation. On social media, Indians threatened not to visit Turkey after reports suggested the country supplied drones to Pakistan after India's Operation Sindoor. India's 6-Point Rebuttal To US On Every Pakistan Ceasefire Claim

India on Tuesday issued a six-point rebuttal to recent statements by US President Donald Trump and senior members of his administration regarding the India-Pakistan ceasefire agreement announced over the weekend. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) firmly refuted multiple assertions made by the US leadership concerning the nature of the ceasefire, including suggestions of American mediation, threats of trade pressure, and the possibility of discussions over Kashmir.

Trump, through a post on Truth Social, and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, in official remarks, claimed that the ceasefire was brokered by the United States to avert a potential nuclear conflict between the two South Asian neighbours. Trump further suggested the US would increase trade with both countries.

India has unequivocally rejected these claims.

  1. Ceasefire Not US-Brokered
  2. No Nuclear Escalation
  3. No Trade Leverage Used
  4. No Scope for Mediation
  5. India Rejects 'Hyphenation' With Pakistan

Pakistan "Pleads" With India To Reconsider Indus Waters Treaty Suspension

Pakistan has reportedly written a letter to India, urging it to reconsider the decision to put the Indus Waters Treaty into abeyance. Pakistan's Ministry of Water Resources has reportedly written a letter to New Delhi to resume the flow of rivers into its territory under the Indus Waters Treaty, reports have claimed.

The Indus Waters Treaty is a pivotal water-sharing accord that has endured for more than six decades. The plea comes after India halted the 1960 agreement in the wake of yet another Pakistan-backed terrorist attack, this time in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22, which left 26 civilians dead, mostly tourists.

India, invoking its national security prerogative, has placed the treaty in abeyance until Islamabad "credibly and irrevocably" ends its support for terrorism.
