BJP National President JP Nadda addresses a press conference via video conference on one year of PM Modi's second term.

Here are the highlights:
  • This has been a year of accomplishments and also a year of unimaginable challenges.
  • Despite this PM Modi and his government has done a lot for the nation.
  • In the first five years, the focus of the Modi government was on major economic and social reforms.
  • The first year of the second term has been about strengthening the nation and ensuring its sovereignty is not compromised.
  • This government has been responsive, receptive and with an ability to take bold decisions.
  • The government is also focused on making India a self-reliant nation.
  • During this Coronavirus crisis, the timely decision of lockdown and subsequent steps has saved the nation from a great disaster.
  • The Rs 20 lakh crore package that has been announced by PM Modi and details of which have been given by FM Nirmala Sitharaman is crucial to ensuring that India becomes 'Atma Nirbhar'.
  • Apart from the decisions taken during the Coronavirus crisis, the Modi government has taken some extremely important steps that has strengthened the nation and help bring everyone within it... like scrapping of Article 370, which will now benefit its people.
  • Ladakh, a region that has been ignored for long, is now a Union Territory and fast-paced development will benefit people of the region.
  • Bringing in CAA, which ensures that those who face religious persecution in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh can now seek safe refuge and inclusion in India. This too had been pending for decades.
  • The UAPA law has been introduced, which deals very strictly with terrorists and acts of terror, and this goes a long way in ensuring India is a safer place to live in.
  • The settlement of the Bru isuue and Bodoland issue, the disagreements of the northeast that hindered development in the region for decades, have now all been settled. The northeast is now developing at a very fast pace.
  • These bold and decisive decisions have not only made India a safer place, but also one united and strong nation.
  • All this was possible because of PM Narendra Modi, and his ability to take these bold steps that had been pending for decades. This is also possible because of Amit Shah, who has worked to make all this possible in its implementation.
  • Another very significant issue that got settled during this last year was the Ayodhya issue. For decades this had been pending and was being delayed by the Congress governments.
  • With the dispute settled, all sides can now work in a united manner.
  • A grand temple will soon be build at the site, and a mosque too shall be built in the land allocated for it.
  • This government has been recognised by all as one that takes the decision and implements it in a timely and fair manner.
  • There has been a cultural change in the political arena.
  • For decades, under previous governments, the difficult decisions were kept for later, kept hanging, kept pushing forward for a later date, with an attitude that we can keep important issues for later, keep diverting the issues.... that attitude has now changed.
  • These decisions are now taken and dealt with in a time-bound manner and taking everyone along.
  • We are not a government that has the attitude of "Atkaana, latkaana, bhatkaana"
