India COVID-19 Highlights: The national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.47%
India recorded a total of 20,279 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the country's overall Covid tally to 4,38,88,755. The active cases increased to 1,52,200, according to the Union Health Ministry data.
The death count climbed to 5,26,033 with 36 new fatalities, the data updated at 8 am stated.
The active cases comprise 0.35 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.45 per cent, the ministry said.

Assam logs 736 new COVID-19 cases, one death
Assam registered 736 new COVID-19 cases, 64 less than the previous day, pushing the tally to 7,34,748 the National Health Mission (NHM) said.
During the last 24 hours, one person died due to COVID-19 in Sonitpur district. With this, the total number of deaths of COVID-19 infected people rose to 8,013, including 1,347 with co-morbidities, the NHM bulletin said on Saturday.
The state's positivity rate marginally increased to 10.77 per cent as 6,833 samples were tested for COVID-19 on Saturday, the daily media bulletin said.
New Zealand records 5,535 new community cases of COVID-19
New Zealand reported 5,535 new community cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, said the Ministry of Health in a statement.
The seven-day rolling average of community case numbers of COVID-19 in New Zealand now sits at 8,563. The ministry also reported 720 current hospitalizations including 21 cases in ICU (intensive care unit) or HDU (High Dependency Unit), and 14 deaths of COVID-19 on Sunday.
In addition, there were 318 new cases of COVID-19 that have recently travelled overseas, according to the ministry.

Maharashtra Covid cases: Thane records 122 new COVID-19 cases, 1 death
Maharashtra's Thane district has reported 122 new COVID-19 cases, taking its infection tally to 7,33,358, a health official said on Sunday.
With the addition of the latest cases on Saturday, the district currently has 904 active COVID-19 cases, he said.
One death was also reported on Saturday, raising the district's COVID-19 fatality toll to 11,925, he said.
The recovery count in Thane has reached 7,22,856, the official added.
