New Delhi: It was jubilant mood at the dinner hosted by Congress President Sonia Gandhi for party MPs soon after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's spirited intervention in Parliament on the controversial Indo-Pak joint statement.
Several MPs complimented Singh at the dinner at which he was received by Gandhi, party sources said.
The reaction of the party to Singh's speech came out with Rahul Gandhi describing it as "convincing".
"The speech was very good. The Prime Minister is always convincing," remarked the young leader.
Besides the Prime Minister, almost all the Congress ministers in the Cabinet and Rahul attended the dinner.
A meeting of the Congress Parliamentary Party on Thursday is expected to see Sonia Gandhi speaking in detail on the issue.
