Chidambaram speaks on Binayak's conviction; invites TRS

New Delhi: At his monthly briefing Home Minister P Chidambaram touched upon Binayak Sen's conviction to the upcoming Telangana meeting among a host of other issues.

He said if Binayak is convicted by a court of law, then those who respect democracy must also respect the processes of democracy.

He maintained that if he is wrongly convicted it will be corrected in lawful ways.

He said he was aware of Mrs Sen's apprehensions and assured one and all that he will talk to the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister.

Touching upon Telangana he expressed hope that Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) will attend the meeting on January 6.

TRS has said that it will boycott all party meeting convened by the union Home Minister P Chidambaram on the same day to discuss the Srikrishna report
