BJP Condemns Attack on Indian Consulate in Afghanistan

Afghan security forces assist an injured colleague at the scene of an attack on the Indian consulate in Herat on May 23 ,2014.

New Delhi:  BJP President Rajnath Singh today condemned the attack on the Indian Consulate in Afghanistan and lauded the role of brave ITBP jawans and officers for putting up a brave defence.

"Happy to know that all staff members and others working at the consulate are safe. Once again kudos to our security forces," he said.

Lauding the role of Indian security forces for their brave action, he said, "Hats off to our brave ITBP jawans and officers who have successfully defended India's consulate in Herat (Afghanistan)."

Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi has already condemned the attack and said he is closely monitoring the situation.
