Bhopal case a corporate manslaughter: Sushma Swaraj
New Delhi: In Parliament today, the Opposition attacked the government over the handling of the Bhopal gas tragedy and its aftermath.

Leader of the Opposition Sushma Swaraj said the gas leak was a man made disaster, and that those responsible were allowed to get away.

"This is a case of corporate man slaughter. The government allowed this incident to happen, to save money and to make profit. They took Indian lives for granted and let this incident happen, this incident did not happen, it was man made because of ignorance," she said.

Swaraj also asked why the Congress is in love with foreigners, citing both the Anderson and Quottrochi case.

"CBI was working for the government which is why after they arrested him, they let him go. It is not just Anderson, all the foreigners have been allowed  to go. I want to why is the Congress in awe of foreigners? Even though the tragedy happened in 1984 the letter to extradite Anderson was only sent in May 2003, during the rule of the NDA. The whole country wants to know on who directed this? The Congress President, the Prime Minister  and the present CM of Madhya Pradesh are all silent," she said.
