Aryan Khan Case: 'The Land Of Mahatma' - Agency's 5 'No Bail' Arguments

Aryan Khan was arrested earlier this month by the NCB.

Mumbai: A Mahatma Gandhi name-drop featured in the arguments made the Narcotics Control Bureau or NCB in court on Thursday as it opposed the bail for Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan's 23-year-old son Aryan Khan in the drugs-on-cruise case.

Here are the top five arguments made by the NCB in the Aryan Khan case today:

  1. "Aryan Khan is not taking drugs only once... the statement that has been received shows that he used to consume it for the last few years."

  2. "Drugs have been found from Arbaaz Merchant (Aryan's friend, from whom 6 grams of charas were seized)... Aryan was with him. When the IO (investigating officer) asked if he had drugs, Arbaaz said he had drugs in his shoes... Arbaaz admitted that both (he and Aryan Khan) were going to consume it on the cruise."

  3. "The investigation is at preliminary stage, this is not the stage for grant of bail... In conspiracy there cannot be direct evidence because only conspirator will know the conspiracy. So Supreme Court has said there can only be circumstantial evidence."

  4. "This is not what our freedom fighters had in mind. This is the land of Mahatma Gandhi and Buddha..."

  5. "This abuse is affecting the young boys. They are college going boys (but) this should not be consideration for bail. I need not tell the court, you are the future of our country. The future of the country depends on this generation."
