Alert sounded at BJP, VHP offices in Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad:

After an intelligence alert from Central agencies about possible terror strikes including "fidayeen attacks" on the establishments of BJP, VHP and RSS in the state capital, the City Security Wing (CSW) has sounded an alert at their offices here.

"After intelligence inputs by Central agencies that the offices of BJP and RSS affiliated wings could be targetted by terrorists, police have suggested them to take precautions on security-related issues," a senior CSW officer said on Sunday.

A CSW team led by senior police officers inspected these office premises yesterday and suggested the office staff about the precautions to be taken.

The officer said they have been told to ensure a no-parking policy in front of their offices, as terrorists could use parking lots for planting bombs besides to raise the height of compound around their buildings and go for solar fencing and deploy more security guards apprehending strikes from suicide bombers.

They were also advised to take up security check-up of visitors, including their workers before they enter into the premises, the officer said and pointed out that these establishments had failed to comply with security measures suggested during an inspection last year.

Security of BJP leaders has already been enhanced and they were also informed on the terror threats, he said.
