Three commandos were killed in an ambush by Naxals in the thick jungles near Gadchiroli in Maharashtra late last night.
Reports suggest that the Naxals attacked a patrolling team of the crack C-60 police commandos a little after midnight at the Kotasurya jungles in the Gadchiroli district, which lies on the red corridor that is worst affected by Maoist violence.
A landmine blast, followed by indiscriminate firing, killed three commandos instantly and wounded four others.
