Infertility clinic chain Gaudium IVF and Women Health Limited has introduced artificial intelligence-led infertility treatment in India, integrating advanced embryology tools into routine clinical practice, the company said on Wednesday. The development comes barely a month after the firm became the country's first publicly listed IVF chain, marking another industry-first initiative, it said in a statement. The AI integration was inaugurated by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, who highlighted the growing role of technology-driven innovation across sectors. According to the statement, the company has deployed AI-powered systems such as SiD (Sperm Identification Device) and ERICA (Embryo Ranking Intelligent Classification Assistant) to improve precision in key stages of the in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) process.

The initiative was undertaken in collaboration with AI tool suite IVF 2.0, founded by embryologists Jacques Cohen and Alejandro Chave, bringing global embryology technologies into the Indian clinical ecosystem, it said.

Speaking at the event, Gadkari said adoption of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence reflects India's growing strength in innovation and will play a key role in shaping future solutions.

Gaudium IVF chairperson and managing director Manika Khanna said the integration of AI would improve success rates while enhancing predictability and transparency in fertility care.

"Fertility care is entering a new era where precision and intelligence will define outcomes," she said, adding that the collaboration aims to make global innovations accessible to patients in India.

According to the company, SiD is designed to optimise sperm selection by analysing movement parameters to identify viable sperm, while ERICA assists embryologists in ranking embryos using data-driven analysis of blastocyst images.

These non-invasive tools are expected to support clinical decision-making and reduce variability in IVF procedures.

Early clinical observations indicate that the use of AI systems may improve fertilisation and blastocyst development rates, potentially reducing the need for repeat treatment cycles and easing the emotional and financial burden on patients, the company said.
