Is it okay to give polio drops every month?
Question
We have taken our 2.4-year-old boy for all polio vaccination programmes till now. I want to know that earlier polio drops were given only once in a year. But now, the polio vaccine is being given almost every month to a child under five years. Should my child be given polio drops every month?

As per the National pulse polio programme, it is advised that all children under five years of age should be given polio drops on these days; this is safe. These drops during pulse polio days should be given in addition to the usual pulse polio dose of the child.
