  • Boney Kapoor’s wife, actress Sridevi, arrived with daughters Jahnavi and Khushi by her side, and will be promoting her film English Vinglish in which she plays a housewife who enrolls for an English speaking course in order to please her husband and family. The actress said that it wasn’t a comeback and that it was a subject she loved. Daughter Jahnavi added that she is all excited to see her mother on screen.
  • Other Bollywood stars expected to attend the event include Ranbir Kapoor, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Vidya Balan, Preity Zinta, Bipasha Basu, Parineeti Chopra, Rani Mukherjee and Anil Kapoor.

Cheering crowds greeted Shahid, who will be co-hosting IIFA with Farhan Akhtar. Next in line was director-producer Boney Kapoor who is proud of son Arjun Kapoor's debut success and is looking forward to Rishi Kapoor and Ranbir performing together at the event.

Boney Kapoor's wife, actress Sridevi svelte in a khaki jump suit, arrived with daughters Jahnavi and Khushi by her side, and will be promoting her film English Vinglish in which she plays a housewife who enrolls for an English speaking course in order to please her husband and family. The actress said that it wasn't a comeback but a film she could not resist. Daughter Jahnavi added that she is all excited to see her mother on screen.

Farhan Akhtar, Shahid's co-host said they intend to make fun of people but not hurt sentiments but he hopes the film fraternity comes armed with a dollop of humour. The actor-director-producer who is also nominated in the best director category for Don competes with sister Zoya and says that this is one competiton he can't win.

Whilst Shabana Azmi is a proud mother with Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara leading the nomination list and Farhan not only hosting but also having been nominated for Best Supporting Actor and Best Director, she feels Ranbir Kapoor and Vidya Balan deserve the Best Actor trophies.

Actors Abhay Deol, Kalki Koechlin and director Dibakar Banerjee were bleary-eyed but happy to bring chaos to the well organised city as they put their best foot forward for the world premiere of Shanghai.
