Sushant Singh Rajput To Play Gus In The Remake Of The Fault In Our Stars

New Delhi: This news will definitely delight actor Sushant Singh Rajput's fans. Sushant, who is currently filming Kedarnath, will feature in the Hindi remake of Hollywood filmmaker Josh Boone's romantic film The Fault In Our Stars. The yet-untitled film will be the directorial debut of casting director Mukesh Chhabra. Confirming the news, Mr Chhabra said that he is currently working on the script of the movie and the team is looking for its female lead, reports news agency PTI. "Yes, I am onboard for The Fault in Our Stars remake. I'm working on the script at the moment. Sushant is the leading man and we are still in the process of casting the heroine," PTI quoted Mukesh Chhabra as saying.

The Fault In Our Stars is based on a novel by the same name by John Green. The film starred Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort in the leading roles. Woodley featured as Hazel Grace Lancaster, a 16-year-old cancer patient, who is forced by her parents to join a support group. Hazel meets Augustus Waters (played by Elgort), another cancer patient at the support group and falls in love with him.

Sushant will step into Ansel Elgort's shoes for his role in the film.The remake will be produced by Fox Star Studios and will go on the floors next year, reports PTI.

Sushant Singh Rajput made his TV debut with Zee TV's popular show Pavitra Rishta. He made his Bollywood debut with Kai Po Che!, for which he received the Best Male Debut Award. He has also featured in films like Shuddh Desi Romance (2014) and Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! (2015). In 2016, Sushant starred in M S Dhoni: The Untold Story, in which he portrayed the role of Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The film was a blockbuster hit at the box office.

Sushant is currently filming Abhishek Kapoor's Kedarnath. He will share screen space with Saif Ali Khan's daughter Sara Ali Khan, who will make her Bollywood debut with Kedarnath.
