Actor Ranveer Singh is all set to romance Sonakshi Sinha in a period love story titledLootera which is set to go on the floor by December end.
Lootera, written and directed by Vikramaditya Motwane of Udaan fame, is the maiden venture of the newly-floated production house, Phantom.
The production house was floated by four prominent filmmakers--Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, Vikas Bahl and Madhu Mantena with an objective of making content-based films and nurturing budding talent.
"It is a love story. The film is a period film that is set in 1950s. It is a commercial film," Motwane told a press conference about the maiden venture.
Sonakshi, who arrived in a red car at the venue of the press conference, said "this the most challenging role for me. I am looking forward to start shooting and working with Ranveer".
Asked about her Bengali look in the film, the gorgeous actress said "I have this authentic Bengali look of the 1950 era. I will wear jewelry, clothes, kajal and make-up and etc of the same time period. We have kept the look original and as authentic as that of 1950s".
Enthused about his role, Ranveer, donning a white T-shirt and high vest denims, said "Sonakshi had taken my breath away with her famous dialgoue Thapad Se Darr Nahi Lagta...Pyaar Se Lagta Hai.
About his look in the flick, the actor, who came to the venue on a bike said, "I am the coolest dude of the 1950s...with that high vest jeans and all retro look".
Though Ranveer and Sonakshi are not paired on the silver screen together, the gossip mills are already churning about their off-screen link-up.
With only one film old, Sonakshi and Ranveer had taken everyone by surprise by their respective debut films.
Sonakshi and Ranveer have bagged almost all debut actorawards for Dabanng and Band Baaja Baarat at almost all award functions.
Lootera is co-produced by Swati Shetty of Balaji Motion Pictures and slated for release by next year-end.
