Noise to be kept in check during Perry-Russell wedding

  • A four-member committee has been appointed to keep a check on the noise pollution during the high profile wedding of British comedian Russell Brand and American singer Katy Perry here today.
  • The wedding is to be solemnised this evening as per the Hindu traditions in Aamn-i-Khas resort near Ranthambore National Park here for which around 100 celebrities have arrived here.
  • "I have appointed a preventive committee to ensure that no violation of norms takes place during the event which is near the forest area. The four member committee will inspect the resort today to interact with the management of the resort," District collector Ravi Kumar told PTI.
  • "The committee will have representation from Rajasthan state pollution Control board, district administration, police and electricity department and will look into concerning complaints if any," he added.
  • According to the sources, the preparation have been done inside the resort. 21 camels, few elephants and horses have been booked for the wedding procession which is scheduled to depart from a nearby Sher Bagh resort this evening.
  • Private security personnel are guarding the resort and outside the resort area and every activity near the resort is being observed minutely.
  • Perry, 25, got engaged to the 'Arthur' star in Jaipur over New Year's eve and decided to tie the knot Indian style.
  • The bride and groom will don Indian finery for their big day and Perry was photographed at the airport wearing a traditional Indian 'nath' (nosepin).
  • The British comedian will ride a bedecked horse, escorted by a procession of elephants and dancers.
  • After getting married in India, the couple will still need to have a civil ceremony in the US for their union to be recognised there.
  • The guests includes the who's who of Hollywood, including Perry's best friend, pop princess Rihanna.
  • While the 'Rude Boy' hitmaker has revealed that she will wear a Stella McCartney creation, many of the invited friends and family will be decked up in Indian fashion with henna tattoos and bindis.
