1.Border

This 1997 film is a depiction of the grim realities and strong willpower of Indian soldiers in times of urgency and distress. The film stars Sunny Deol, Akshaye Khanna, Suniel Shetty and Jackie Shroff among others. 

2.Mother India

This Nargis and Sunil Dutt starrer sent ripples of nationalism at the grassroots level. The protagonists are mired by corrupted systems and their only way out of the problem, is to go through it.

3.The Legend Of Bhagat Singh
It is based on the life events of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh. For his portrayal of the titular character, Ajay Devgn won the National Film Award for Best Actor. 

4.Lagaan
An emotional tale of Indian peasants fighting against colonial British aristocrats is an evergreen sensation on the silver screen. Its star cast, acting and directorial prowess and the link to cricket make it a must-watch on Independence Day. It also earned an Oscar nomination in 2002.

5.Raazi

The 2018 spy movie is a heart-wrenching tale adapted from Harinder Sikka's book Calling Sehmat. The film features Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal and Rajit Kapoor

6.Rang De Basanti

This film is a saga of friendship, life goals, politics, history and rebellion. It has remained in our hearts with its evergreen storyline and sense of true patriotism.

7.Mangal Pandey: The Rising

This film tells the moving story of Mangal Pandey, the Indian soldier who sparked the 1857 revolt against the British Raj.

8.A Wednesday

The film is a thriller inspired by the 2006 Mumbai train bombings. Since its release, it has received much critical acclaim and has also won numerous awards.

9.The Gazi Attack
The story revolves around a Pakistani submarine that is scheduled to attack the Indian port of Vizag. However, an Indian submarine stands in its way.

10.Pukar

This Anil Kapoor starrer revolves around a terrorist conspiracy against an Indian army major's operations. Madhuri Dixit and Namrata Shirodkar were also part of the film.
