New Delhi: Director SS Rajamouli's Baahubali promises a grand cinema experience and the first trailer of the film, just released, is of accordingly epic proportions.
Filmmaker Karan Johar, who is presenting the film, tweeted a link to the trailer of 'India's biggest motion picture.' Almost instantly, the hashtag #BaahubaliTrailer began to trend.
The two-minute long clip is filled with lush landscapes of mountains and waterfalls, temples and palaces, and battlefields.
The second half of the trailer is simply lousy with warriors going into battle, led by actors Prabhas, who plays a double role of which one is the titular Baahubali, and Rana Daggubati as Bhallaladeva. Both are built to epic scale, with imposing physiques and costumes to match.
There is also a longish glimpse of Tamannaah, one of the two female leads with Anushka Shetty, wafting along clothed in gossamer white.
The trailer was preceded by a 16-second long teaser on Sunday.
Baahubali, reputed to be the most expensive film ever made in India, is a two-part historical film being made in both Telugu and Tamil. It will be dubbed in Hindi, Malayalam, English and, apparently, French. The cast also includes Ramya Krishnan, Nassar and Sathyaraj.
Part one of the film releases on July 10.
