Documentary <i>Side by Side</i> to open digital film festival
The festival continues to be an exclusive medium of interaction between global filmmakers using the digital medium.
New Delhi: Side by Side, the Keanu Reeves produced and Christopher Kenneally directed documentary, will be the opening film at the 0110 International Digital Film Festival 2013 (IDDF 2013).

This was announced Monday by organisers of the festival, which is widely seen as the destination for New Wave Cinema in India.

The organisers also announced an advisory panel including Sudhir Mishra, Anurag Kashyap, Q (Qaushik Mukherjee - director of Gandu), Roysten Able and renowned Hollywood producer Jason Kilot.

The jury would include Kabir Khan and Sudhir Mishra.

"The festival is not limited to competing and screening of cinema, it is a destination for genuine cinema centric education with interactive workshops and seminars headed by some of the most prominent names of the fraternity," said festival director Madhureeta Anand.

"0110 IDFF's core aim is to promote the all-pervasive digital medium of cinema but more importantly to bridge the gap between indigenous and international cinema," she said.

"Creating a common platform for liberal interactions and exchange, broadening the horizon of Indian cinema and film makers as a whole," Anand added.

"The success of any endeavour lies in the amalgamation of the new and the old."

An annual event, 0110 IDFF is a platform which upholds the format of digital film making and acknowledges that digital format has metamorphosed into a well-accepted medium from a limited medium of filmmaking.

It continues to be an exclusive medium of interaction between global filmmakers using the digital medium.

Eminent film personas such as Tabu, Anurag Kashyap, Raima Sen, Vinay Pathak, Sudhir Misra and many more have associated with 0110 IDFF in the past.

The festival is categorized in such a way that that it touches all faculties of digital cinema which includes feature films, documentaries, films made by students, films shot on mobiles, digital art installations and animation and special effects.

The fifth edition of this festival will be held Jan 26-3 at The India Habitat Centre in New Delhi and then travel to Whistling Woods in Mumbai on January 31-February 4.
