Sources close to the actor said that after the harrowingexperience of Vipul Shah's
Singh is Kinng, Akshay wants totake no chances at all.
During
Singh is Kinng, many Sikh groups had stagedprotests against the actor, for incorrectly portraying a Sikh.
"This time around to avoid any such, undue conflict,Akshay requested director Nikhil Advani to change the script,and show his character as a clean shaven Sikh," the sourcessaid.
The script originally had Akshay's character with beardand turban. However Akshay explained his predicament toNikhil. Nikhil understood Akshay's situation and readilyagreed, they said.
"According to the change done, Akshay's character'sparents get so distressed during riots that as a protectionhis hair and beard are shaved off," they added.
