Arvind Kejriwal addresses rally at Bangalore: Highlights

Bangalore: Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal today said that if people want him to, he will contest against BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi from Varanasi in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. The AAP chief also said that he will hold a rally in Varanasi on March 23.

While addressing a rally at Bangalore's Freedom Park ground, Mr Kejriwal hit out at Mr Modi for taking back former Karnataka chief minister YS Yeddyurappa into the party fold.

Arvind Kejriwal is on a two-day tour of Karnataka.



Here are the highlights: 

  • If you go to Delhi and talk to the 'Aam Aadmi' they will still say that they will vote for AAP if there are re-elections.
  • Was chief minister for 49 days. After I resigned, I started touring the country.
  • I Went to Haryana first. People are tired of the Congress there...too much corruption.
  • In Maharashtra, people are disappointed with Congress, NCP, MNS.
  • In Karnataka, people are disappointed with Congress, BJP.
  • Then I went to Uttar Pradesh...saw people were disappointed with Mayawati...so they brought Akhilesh to power. 
  • There have been 102 riots between Hindu-Muslims since he came to power. People also disappointed with Congress and BJP.
  • Don't know what Modi's compulsion was to take Yeddyurappa back in the BJP.
  • Don't know what compelled BJP to give Sriramulu a ticket.
  • Wherever I go people want change. They thought they had no option.
  • People want corruption-free government.
  • Narendra Modi represents the crony capitalists of the country.
  • Modi travels in a helicopter, gives speeches, leaves. Rahul Gandhi does the same. Helicopter politics won't work anymore.
  • Why is Modi so scared of me? He sent 1000 policemen to stop me.
  • Will hold rally in Varanasi...if people want me to, will contest against Modi from there.
