Cabinet Secretary Dr. TV Somanathan reviewed preparations with the NTA Director General. Strict legal action will be taken against those attempting to cause irregularities or interfere with the exam. Cabinet Secretary asserted that the full force of the law will be brought to bear on such individuals. 

The NEET UG 2026 re-exam will be held from 2 pm to 5:15 pm. As per the official information the extra 15 minutes is given for the mandatory examination formalities, such as signing of attendance sheet and other invigilation procedures, which candidates earlier felt reduced their effective working time.

Under the revised arrangement, the NTA has now placed two rough-work pages at the beginning of the booklet (immediately after the instruction page), in addition to those at the end, in both the English and the regional-language versions of the question paper.

The National Testing Agency is expected to release the NEET re-exam admit card by June 14, 2026. The NEET hall tickets will inform candidates about their exam centre address and important exam day instructions.

NTA said these measures reflect its recognition that small, thoughtful changes in examination design can make a meaningful difference to a candidate's comfort during the high-stakes hours of the examination.

Several NEET aspirants preparing to reappear for the medical entrance examination have expressed that they are facing heightened anxiety, disrupted routines, loss of confidence and growing distrust in the examination system following the cancellation of the earlier test.

The NEET UG 2026 was conducted on May 3 across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad, at over 5,432 centres, for approximately 22.79 lakh registered candidates. 

The Re-NEET will be conducted in 551 cities across the country and 14 cities abroad from 2 pm to 5:15 pm, as per the official information.

On May 27, Pradhan and former ISRO Chairman K Radhakrishnan, who also serves as the Chairman of the high-powered Steering Committee, reviewed the preparedness for the upcoming NEET-UG re-examination amid heightened focus on examination security and surveillance systems.

Candidates will be able to download their Re-NEET hall tickets from the official website using their application number and password.

The National Testing Agency has announced today that a few changes in the design of the question booklet have been implemented for the re-NEET exam. The public notice stated that earlier, rough pages were provided only at the end of the booklet. To address this, two rough pages have now been placed immediately after the instruction page at the beginning of the booklet. Meanwhile, two pages will also be available at the end. 

In a public notice released today, the NTA has announced that a few candidate-friendly changes have been introduced for the NEET UG 2026 re-exam scheduled for June 21. 

Ridhima Bansal, who appeared for both the Class 12 board examinations and NEET this year, said in conversation with PTI that the cancellation of the entrance test has left her emotionally drained and she is struggling to resume her studies.

"When I reopened my books, I was not feeling like studying," she said, adding that the uncertainty has also affected her daily routine and mental well-being.

"Sleep issues have started because all-nighters are again happening. After the exam, I was sleeping peacefully. Now I am back to sleeping at 3 am, waking up at 7, attending classes, giving mock tests and studying again. Mental health is affected. I don't feel like eating," Bansal said.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and former ISRO Chairman K Radhakrishnan, who also serves as the Chairman of the high-powered Steering Committee constituted to monitor the implementation of recommendations on the National Testing Agency (NTA), on May 13 reviewed the preparedness for the upcoming NEET UG re-examination scheduled to be held on June 21 amid heightened focus on examination security and surveillance systems.

As per the official announcement, the window to update the earlier city choices was made available from May 15 to 21. For students who have not opted for this facility, their existing choice of city during the NEET UG 2026 application submission will be retained, according to the official information.

The NTA issued the advance intimation of examination cities on June 7, 2026. Candidates must know that this is not the admit card, this is only an advance information of the examination city where the exam centre of the candidate will be located. 

On June 9, while reviewing the preparations for the NEET 2026 re-exam, Union Education Minister Pradhan stated that meetings have been held under the Cabinet secretary, and all the states have been asked to cooperate with the re-examination process.

“I have written to the chief ministers of all the states requesting their cooperation. Their support was there earlier as well, and I have requested them to pay even more attention this time,” Pradhan said.

Union Education Minister Pradhan appealed to the candidates to focus on their studies, asserting that the government is taking extra precautions this time, from question paper setting to their delivery at the examination centres. 

 Pradhan on Tuesday reviewed preparations for the NEET UG re-test and assured candidates that measures have been put in place to ensure the examination is conducted smoothly, securely and without errors.

In an effort to ease travel for candidates of NEET UG re-examination on June 21, the Odisha government on Thursday announced that it will provide free bus service for the candidates.

The state government's Commerce & Transport Department has directed that candidates can travel free of cost on Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) buses by showing their NEET admit cards. 

The NEET UG 2026 re-exam portal to submit scribe details for eligible Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) will close today, June 12, at 11:50 pm. 

The members of a Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare suggested on Wednesday that the NEET UG should be conducted multiple times a year to reduce pressure on students and ensure they do not lose an entire academic year.

In a press conference on May 15, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had announced that the admit cards for the NEET UG exam will be issued by June 14, 2026.
