New Delhi: ICSE and ISC result 2018 has been announced on the official website. With the result declaration, CISCE has brought an end to the wait of almost 2 lakh students across the country. This year the performance has improved as the Council revised the overall percentage required for passing in the exam. 98.51 per cent students have passed in class 10 (ICSE) examination. 

Southern region has recorded the highest pass percentage in ICSE with 99.69 pass percentage, followed by Western region with 98.38%. Northern region has 95.97% and Eatern region has 95.85% pass percent. All India topper for ICSE (Class 10) is Swayam Das from St Mary's ICSE School, Navi Mumbai with 99.4% marks.

The pass percentage for class 12 students is 96.21%. 7 students score 99.5% and are ranked at first position. Class 12 pass percentage has dropped from last year when it was 96.47%. 

The result has been released on the official website and is also available through SMS. Students can follow the procedure elucidated below to check their result.

"We did not follow any moderation policy. Also, there was no spiking of marks. Despite that the number of students scoring above 99 per cent has increased this year," Gerry Arathoon, the CEO of the Council, told reporters today.

"Last year also, we had waited for the Delhi High Court order and then for CBSE's stand on the issue as the in-principle decision to scrap moderation policy was taken unanimously by 32 boards," he added.

While 49 students got more than 99 per cent in the Class 12 exam, 15 students scored more than 99 per cent in the Class 10 exam.
 

How to check ICSE, ISC Result 2018?

Step one: Go to official website: www.cisce.org.

Step two: Click on the relevant result link.

Step three: Enter your unique id, index number and captcha code correctly. 

Step four: Submit and view your result. 

To get result via SMS, send SMS ICSE<Space><Unique Id> to 09248082883 for class 10 result and SMS ISC<Space><Unique Id> to 09248082883 for class 12 result. 

Students will be allowed to apply for rechecking via the official website up until seven days (till May 20) after the result declaration. The digitally signed marks sheets and passing certificates will be made available through the Digilocker service of Government of India. The digitally signed documents will be made available two days after the result declaration, that is will be available from May 16, 2018.
 

ICSE, ISC Results 2018 Statistics


1,83,387 and 80,880 candidates appeared ICSE and ISC exams respectively.

1,00,369 boys wrote Class 10 exams, out of which 98,517 qualified for higher education.

In ISC examination 43,052 students attended the exam and 40,883 qualified.

83,018 girls appeared for the ICSE examination and 82,146 candidates passed. 37,828 girls appeared for the ISC examination and out which 36,933 qualified.

In both ICSE and ISC, girls have done better than boys.

The pass percentage obtained in the major subjects in the ICSE Examination:

English 99.75%; Bengali 99.71%; Hindi 99.91%; History, Civics & Geography 98.77%; Mathematics 95.25%; Science 98.65%; Commercial Studies 99.11%; Economics 96.83%; Physical Education 99.97%; Computer Applications 99.99%; Economic Applications 99.97%; Commercial Applications 99.96%.

The pass percentage obtained in the major subjects in the ISC Examination:

English 99.44%; Bengali 99.92%; Hindi 99.72%; Economics 85.80%; Commerce 96.09%; Accounts 91.75%; Mathematics 86.41%; Physics 96.83%; Chemistry 98.57%; Biology 98.81%; Computer Science 99.54%.

The ICSE Examination has been conducted in 61 written subjects of which 22 are Indian languages and 10 are foreign languages. The ISC Examination has been conducted in 48 written subjects of which 14 are Indian languages, 5 are foreign languages and 3 are classical languages.

For ICSE in India, the Southern region has the best pass percentage i.e. 99.69% followed by the Western region (99.67%), Eastern region (98.02%) & Northern region (97.91%). Abroad, ICSE has achieved 100%.

For ISC in India, the Southern Region has the best pass percentage i.e. 98.38%, followed by Western Region (97.22%), Northern Region (95.97%) and Eastern Region (95.85%). Abroad, ISC has achieved pass percentage of 99.36%.

Students from 2,161 schools attended in the ICSE examinations this year in India and abroad, while, students from 1,034 schools appeared in ISC exam.
