Himachal Board Class 12 Exam: Physics, Computer Science Papers Cancelled (Representational Image)
Amidst allegation of malpractice in state board exam, Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has decided to cancel the exam for Physics and Computer Science papers for class 12. According to allegations, the question paper for class 12 board exam for Physics and Computer Science were stolen from the examination centre at Government Senior Secondary School, Nichar in Kinnaur district. The incident led to apprehension about the exam and possible paper leak. The matter was brought to the notice of HPBOSE by the principal of the school.
The Principal of the said school, Centre Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent and Chowkidra have been suspended by the Deputy Commissioner, Kinnaur, Naresh Kumar. An FIR has also been registered at Bhaba Nagar police station in the matter.
The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Virbhadra Singh has also made a suo moto statement in the state Assembly addressing the matter of the theft of question papers. He informed the house that the double lock of the cupboard in the school was found broken and 60 question papers from each subject and answer sheets were missing.
Hence, the examination for both the subjects stands cancelled at all 1846 exam centers. there would be a departmental enquiry in the matter. The Chief Minister told Press Trust of India that the Director, Higher Education will head the enquiry and those found guilty will be subject to strictest action.
The Physics paper exam was scheduled on March 15 and Computer Science paper was scheduled on March 21. A spokesman of the board informed that the board will soon announce the new dates for examination.
