Kidnapped teenage girl rescued from 'lover'

Delhi: A teenaged girl was rescued from the clutches of her 21-year-old alleged kidnapper who was in "love" with her, police said today.

Mohd Idrish, hailing from Madhubani in Bihar, was about to leave for Punjab with the 14-year-old school student when he was arrested from Fatehpur Beri last night, H G S Dhaliwal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), said.

The arrest came following police receiving a complaint that a Class V student of a government primary school in Fatehpur Beri was missing.

During interrogation, Dhaliwal said, it came to light that Idrish was in "love" with the girl and in order to make impression on the girl, he used to slit his wrist.

"Yesterday also, he cut his wrist to show off his love in Bollywood style. After this, he lured the girl and took her from school time at his hideout and was planning to move to Punjab by bus," Dhaliwal said.

However, police zeroed in on him and arrested him. Idrish's parents died a long back and he is the only person left in the family. Eight years ago, he left his native state Bihar in search of work.

He worked in West Bengal, Punjab and other states and finally shifted to Delhi.
